I’m a self-confessed music junkie. Music has been an ever present in my life since I can remember. Life is just better when set to music! Even when I’m not playing music the chances are I’ve got an ear worm buzzing about in my head. As afflictions go it’s quite a pleasant one!
I cut my DJing teeth playing tunes at various house parties for friends and family in my early teens. Initially it was a passion I shared with my brother, until he discovered the opposite sex! So then I went solo and I’ve never looked back. DJing has been very good to me. I’ve found kindred spirits in a group of DJ colleagues who push me to continually give my clients a better service. I’m still learning new skills and I love meeting new couples planning their big day to share ideas and inspiration I hope will make a difference to their wedding day. It’s a real privilege to be able to do what I do and I try to never lose sight of that.
My DJ Style
I’m used to playing music of all flavours at my weddings, but I have a particular soft spot for Indie guitar sounds, Motown’s brand of sunshine soul and 90s Dance anthems. Some of my best night’s DJing have come as a result of playing a mix of both the bride and groom’s favourite tunes, perhaps some guest requests and using my experience and intuition to select the right music to suit the crowd. I try and keep my microphone use to a minimum, making announcements when required. Otherwise, the music takes centre stage and my job is to control the momentum of the party.
